In order to create a safer District, the Waldo Area Business Association (WABA) Property Committee has created a security camera grant sponsored by the Waldo Community Improvement District (CID). Property and business owners located within the CID boundaries are eligible to apply for special camera packages priced at $2,000-$2,150 of which $1,000 is offset by the grant. There are five grants total available each year. Please review the qualifications.
Applicants MUST have property owner’s permission.
- Applicants MUST own a business within the Waldo Area Community Improvement
District boundaries. - Applicants MUST install at least four cameras on the exterior of the property noted on
the application. - Applicants MUST register the cameras with the Kansas City, Missouri Police
Department’s “WachKC” program, which allows the police to contact registrants to see if any possible evidence was captured. Someone from KCPD will then arrange to obtain the footage at a time that is convenient for you.
If you would like to apply, we strongly encourage you to do so in a timely manner, as again, these grants will be first come, first serve. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the WABA Office at Natalie@WaldoKC.org or (816)286-4523. Thank you and we look forward to receiving your application.
