Lorna’s Studio of Dance

Betty Tillotson opened a small dance studio in 1950 in the Waldo /Brookside area. She was the principal instructor/owner for over 50 years. She became a huge Waldo presence within the Kansas City area including being the Honorary Mayor of the Waldo region. Upon Betty’s retirement, in 2017, she turned over the reigns of the studio to Lorna Sherer.

Classes at the studio are small with an element of personalized instruction geared to the needs of the individual. Instruction is keyed to the individual student’s progress. He or she is never advanced before completely mastering the fine points of elementary techniques.

All classes are taught by experienced,

adult teachers. Costumes for performances are always age appropriate and modest in style.

Music is always tasteful.
