During a time when many small businesses had to close their doors or put their plans on hold, the Waldo Area Business Association welcomed more than 20 businesses to their business district between March 2020 through 2021. To recognize all of the new, re-branded and expanded businesses now open, the Waldo Area Business Association is hosting a celebration and large-scale Ribbon Cutting at the parking lot at Gregory & Wornall on Wednesday, September 15 at 12:30 p.m.
The Waldo Area Business Association will recognize the 20+ new businesses with a Ribbon Cutting that represents all that have opened or expanded followed by a celebration with food trucks and networking. The public is invited to experience this large-scale Ribbon Cutting and to learn more about the new businesses in Waldo, while enjoying bites from area food trucks.
From pet services to restaurants and even specialty shops, Waldo has become home to many new brands offering something for everyone. A few of the new businesses recognized in the celebration include 75th Street Events, Betty Rae’s, Botanica, Cicada, Cheveux, Geo’s Cheese, Fresh Green, Jovito’s Italian Fare, Littlefield Eye Associates, Marco Polo Selections, Ovation Home Design, Pedego Electric Bikes, Sierra Winter Jewelry, SOAP Refill Station, Social Waldo, Strips Chicken, Taco Cacao, The Collar Club, and more.
For generations, people have been shopping and dining in Waldo, supporting local businesses, friends and neighbors. The area, stretching along Wornall Road from Gregory to around 85th St., is home to some of Kansas City’s favorite restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and services. In fact, Waldo had more businesses open than close in the past year.
